International Association of Universities

It is an academic umbrella group of universities and higher education institutions that seeks to be a leading beacon of knowledge in the academic field, and supports close cooperation and coordination of efforts and endeavors Diligent in developing universities, stimulating excellence, and ensuring quality control and accreditation, the Union grants membership to universities and higher education institutions and individual membership to academics.

During the past years, the International University Union has been active in many fields that serve the academic path, at the level of specialized scientific events and conferences, international academic exhibitions, agreements, memorandums of understanding and partnership, and media conferences for member universities, and assisting member universities in development, preparing programs, and employing some academics. The Union has also been keen to provide all facilities. To member universities, such as official speeches, hosting events, adopting proposals, facilitating travel procedures for delegations of member universities, as well as facilitating academic and scientific tasks, in addition to helping in organizing conferences for member universities and graduation celebrations for their students.

The union aims to

  • Strengthening cooperation between universities and coordinating their efforts among themselves and with relevant regional and international institutions, especially in keeping pace with modern developments and modern educational techniques and patterns.

  • Supporting the processes of developing the performance and independence of universities, affirming the research and academic freedom of their faculty members, protecting their rights, and strengthening the bonds of cooperation between them.

  • Conducting and encouraging activities, training services and scientific research within the scope of the objectives of the International Association of Universities in human development

  • Striving to secure scholarships from universities that are members of the Union and to train teaching staff with the aim of permanently empowering them and participating in absorbing advanced systems in the fields of theoretical and practical application of science.

  • Supporting and stimulating excellence and creativity and encouraging joint student activities between Arab and international universities.

  • Establishing the regulatory framework for specialized higher education institutions and supporting them in scientific programs and developing them to keep pace with the requirements and needs of society.

  • Conducting administrative training courses to qualify cadres, individuals, departments, institutions and scientific institutions of countries.

  • Cooperation to control the quality of university and higher education, ensure its quality, and strive to achieve mutual recognition of certificates issued by Arab universities.

  • Providing consultations to universities and academics.

  • Organizing international conferences and scientific events.
